Web Site Login via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & OpenID

Overview

The Dreamland Metaverse web site supports OpenID. This allows you to log into this site using the following kinds of user accounts, after you have linked your local user account with user accounts of these identity providers:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Google
  • Google Profile
  • Yahoo
  • AOL
  • MyOpenID
  • OpenID
  • LiveJournal
  • Wordpress
  • Blogger
  • Verisign
  • ClaimID
  • ClickPass
  • LinkedIn

Beside that this web site can also act as identity provider for other web sites that support OpenID.

What is OpenID

The following video explains the basic concept of OpenID compared to traditional user logins.

Your OpenID Identity

You can use the user account on this web site to log into any web site that supports OpenID. For this you need to enter your OpenID identity URL on that web site.

You can find your OpenID identity by clicking on My Account on the right side of the screen. Your OpenID identity URL is show on the View tab in the section Identity. Simply copy and paste this string, so that you have it available whenever needed to log into a web site supporting OpenID.

On the My Account tab OpenID Sites you can manage the OpenID web sites you have linked with your local user account.

Facebook

When you create a user account, you can already click the Facebook Connect button in the registration screen. This creates a new account that is already linked with your Facebook account.

If you have created a local account already, you can link it with your Facebook account. First log into your Facebook account. Then log into this web site, click on My Account on the right side of the screen. Click on the tab Edit and then on the subtab Facebook. Finally click on Connect with Facebook and confirm that you want to authorize this web site to log you in via Facebook. Finally click on Save.

In the future you will be logged in automatically when you visit this web site, when you are logged in Facebook already. Otherwise press the Facebook Connect login button in the User Login area, to log in via your Facebook account.

Twitter

If you have created a local account, you can link it with your Twitter account. First log into your Twitter account. Then log into this web site, click on My Account on the right side of the screen. Click on the tab Edit and then on the subtab Twitter Accounts. Finally click on Add Account and confirm that you want to authorize this web site to log you in via Twitter.

In the future press on the Sign in with Twitter login link in the User Login area, to log in via your Twitter account.

LinkedIn

If you have created a local account, you can link it with your LinkedIn account. First log into your LinkedIn account. Then log into this web site, click on My Account on the right side of the screen. Click on the tab Edit and then on the subtab LinkedIn. Finally click on the Go LinkedIn button and confirm that you want to authorize this web site to log you in via LinkedIn.

In the future press on the LinkedIn icon in the User Login area, to log in via your LinkedIn account.

Other Identity Providers

If you have created a local account, you can link it with accounts of various identity providers and especially all accounts of web sites that support standard OpenID. First log into the account of your identity provider. Then log into this web site, click on My Account on the right side of the screen. Click on the tab OpenID Identities. Then click on the icon of your identity provider or the standard OpenID icon. If necessary enter the required information in the input field, for example the account name or the OpenID URL of the OpenID provider you want to use. Finally click on the Add an OpenID button and confirm that you want to authorize this web site to log you in via that identity provider.

In the future simply press on the icon of your identity or the OpenID icon in the User Login area, to log in via your account at that identity provider. You might need to enter the account name or the OpenID URL and then click on the Sign-In button.
